Setting Up Yahoo’s Site Explorer for Your Blog
*Update – Yahoo Site Explorer is Dead! No need for this post any more!
Now that you’ve set up Google’s Webmaster Tools as well as Bing’s Webmaster Tools you’re ready to tackle the last major search engine and their version of toolset for website owners!
Yahoo! has been around for a long time and millions of people every day use their search engine to find the valuable content that they need – it’s best to stay abreast of not only how your blog performs as it relates to Yahoo! but also all the relevant and valuable information that Yahoo! can provide you!
Here are the steps to get setup:
1. Head to Yahoo’s Site Explorer
Visit Yahoo! Site Explorer and add your site in the box below:
2. Sign into Yahoo, Create an Account
If you have a Yahoo! account then you can just go ahead and sign in. If not, you’ll need a Yahoo! ID.
3. Grab META Key
4. Copy and Paste META, Put it In WordPress Template
As you can see we have Google’s Site Verification as well as Bing’s – now we’ll add Yahoo’s:
Now just hit “Update File” in your WordPress Theme Editor and you’ve done it!
5. Hit “Ready to Authenticate”
Hit the “Ready to Authenticate” button and then you should be set!
Now you’ll have to wait a bit as the system starts pulling in information but you’ll want to check back soon to see what it pulls up.
